Step 1: log in to Facebook. Check status updates. Check news feed. Bonus: message people asking them why they aren't listed as in a relationship anymore.
Step 2: check e-mail in Thunderbird
Step 3: log in to last.fm. See if there are new 'shouts' in shoutbox. Draw deep conclusions about my general mood by looking at weekly charts. Wonder why nothing has happened on dashboard in the last two months.
Step 4: check e-mail in Thunderbird
Step 5: log in to Hotmail that I couldn't be bothered to import to Thunderbird. Check number of miles on Star Alliance account (the only e-mails that arrive to this address are their newsletters). Think about dream holiday destinations for a while.
Step 6: check e-mail in Thunderbird
Step 7: check new comments on blog. Jump around extatically if there is one.
Step 8: check e-mail in Thunderbird
Step 9: check RSS feed for new blog entries
Step 10: check blogs I left a comment on for answers even if there are no new articles listed
Step 11: check e-mail in Thunderbird
Step 12: check download status in Azureus. Analyse download speed. Bonus: watch two downloads race one against the other and make mental bets about which one will win.
Step 13: check e-mail in Thunderbird
Step 14: check who is online on msn
Step 15: check who is online on Skype
Step 16: check bbc news for good conversation starters and get back on msn. Or Skype. Or both.
Step 17: check e-mail in Thunderbird
Step 18: check celebrity news on imdb.
Step 19: check e-mail in Thunderbird
Step 20: get back to Step 1. After all, in the past fifteen minutes many changes could have occurred everywhere!
So... is there something I've left out you think?
